Why Aren't My Banners Working?

Getting started with placing banners on your site is usually pretty easy, but there are a few things that can possibly make it a little frustrating. There are many reasons why banners sometimes don't work. This article will take you through some of the more common reasons for your problems with banners.

The Problem: I upload the code but the banner doesn't appear on my site.

Solution: 95% of the time this is a problem with your firewall. You will need to change the settings on your firewall. If you are still not sure if it is working or not then you should log onto the internet using a different computer and view your webpage. Usually you will see that the banner is showing and that the problem is at your end ¨C ie. your computer's firewall.

Another reason for this occurring could be that the Merchant has moved the image on their server. This is almost always done by accident and is quite rare. To see if this is the case, simply take the image source URL out of the code and paste it into the address bar of your browser. (ie. the url in the code that comes after the href=" ) If the image is NOT there, then the Merchant has moved it. You will need to use the "Contact Merchant" functionality in your login screen to get in contact with them.

The last probable reason for the banners not showing on your site is that you have not used the entire code properly. If you fall into this category, you may wish to log in and go to "Get Banner linking Code / Deep Linking" in the member home area to retrieve the code. You can then try uploading the entire code again.

Problem: When I click on my banners I get redirected to a clixGalore site.

Solution: The reasons for a redirect are displayed on the page that you are redirected to.

The first possible problem is that the Merchant is not accepting traffic from your country of origin. If this is the case, you can view this by using the search function to do a search for the Merchant - the countries that they don't accept traffic from will be listed in their profile. There really isn't much you can do about this other than to find another Merchant to promote.

The other possibility for the redirect is that the Merchant has a low balance in their clixGalore account and is unable to cover the costs of paying their Affiliates a commission. If this is the case, then clixGalore automatically sends them a message informing them and continues to contact the Merchant until they top up their balance. This is also one of the reasons that clixGalore allows Affiliates to see which Merchants have the "auto-redeposit" and "pending sale redeposit" turned on - Merchant who have both of those options set to on will never encounter the problem of having your traffic redirected.

That about covers the main problems that people have with clixGalore banners. Usually, most people have absolutely no problems using banners to link to Merchants and when they do it is most often cause by one of the above problems. Of course, if you still have a problem you can always contact the customer service team at clixGalore and they will try to help you out.
